I am a highly experienced, enthusiastic and result oriented person with a track record of motivating, developing and incorporating current technology in specialized fields that provide the guidelines to coaches for improving training. Effective communicator with excellent planning, organizational and execution skills as well as the ability to lead, establish goals and attain results. Although a topper in Law at University of Calcutta, I had an accomplished career demonstrating consistent success as an Administrator of the sports department in Mahadevi Birla World Academy, Kolkata. To realize my dream of promoting an all round development of girls, some of the highlights of my small endeavour are mentioned below : • Introduced Chess, Darts, Rhythmic Gymnastics, Carom, Snooker, Basketball and card game Bridge as new sports activities at the school • Organised various Intra-school and Intra-school sports activities in swimming, badminton, table tennis, darts, gymnastics, chess, carom and skating every year. • Organised workshops by Mr. Gopichand and Atik Jauhari, the Chief National Badminton Coach, by the renowned fitness expert, Ranadeep Moitra and also the International Swimming Coach, Partha Pratim Mazumdar in the school for the students and coaches. • Planned and organized Simultaneous Chess Tournament ( first ever by any school ) where 65 of our students played chess simultaneously with Grand Master Shri Dibyendu Barua in 2009. • Received the prestigious award “ The Telegraph School Awards for The Best Extra-Curricular Performance by a School ” in 2010 and 2011. • Sent students to State and National level Championships in 7 different disciplines namely, swimming, table tennis, badminton, darts, gymnastics, carom and skating where they performed very well and won prizes. • Motivated girls to take up rowing and participate in the Inter School Rowing championship being organized by Bengal Rowing Club. My Achievements: • Represented West Bengal and the University of Calcutta in swimming at various Junior & Senior Nationals and National School Games between 1983-1991 and won many prizes. • Held the state record in 100 mt. Back Stroke swimming in 1984 & 1985. • Won the Gold Medal for West Bengal at National Rowing Championships and also for Calcutta University at All India Inter-Varsity Rowing Championship in 1991, apart from winning all the major rowing competitions between 1990 and 1993. • Recipient of National Sports Talent Search Scholarship from 1983 to 1991. • Recipient of Gold Medal for excellence in swimming from West Bengal Provincial Marwari Federation in 1995. • Recipient of Gold Medal for excellence in swimming from All India Youth Marwari Federation in 1995. • Received Gold Medal from All India Agrasen Federation for being the topper amongst girl students in BA.LLB (5Years) from University of Calcutta. • Represented the University of Calcutta in swimming, rowing, table tennis and badminton and thereby creating a record of 4 “University Blues’’ by any sports person. • Held the “Champion of Champions” Trophy at Indian Life Saving Society from 1983 to 1986. • Won the ‘ Champion of Champions ’ trophy in sports at Hazra Law College in 1995 for winning intra-college badminton, table tennis and carrom for 5 consecutive years. • Awarded the title of “Queen Of Swimming” in Bengal Rowing Club in 2012. Throughout my career I have built a wide network which is highlighted by, but not limited to the sports community. I am a Committee Member at The Bengal Rowing Club and an Ex-Committee Member at Bhartiya Sanskriti Sansad. I also hold memberships at Dalhousie Institute, Indian Life Saving Society, West Bengal Rowing Association and Millennium Mams’.
