Sukanya Acharya is a practising counsel and Founder of Juris Emeralds, Advocates and Solicitors, a full-service law firm, based in Bengaluru with over 8 years of experience in the corporate and commercial matters, M&A, P&E and VC transactions, FDI and International Trade advisory and dispute resolution. She also advises in data protection and privacy matters, and cyber laws dispute resolution and is an ADR practitioner. She is a legal columnist and blogger in diverse fields of law. Currently, she serves as the Vice-President of the National Council for Cybersecurity, WICCI, New Delhi. Also, she is a guest faculty for the P.G. Diploma Course on Cyber Laws, KLE Law Society, Bengaluru. She has previously taught at the School of Law, Christ University, Bengaluru, School of Law, Savitha University, Chennai, Tezpur Law College, Assam. She has been a teaching assistant at the Queen Mary University of London. She is an Erasmas Plus ICM Fellow (2018-19), Queen Mary University of London, London. Her current domain of research for a doctoral degree in Investment Treaty Arbitration and Rule of Law. She is pursuing PhD in International Investment Law and Arbitration from the National Law School of India University, Bengaluru currently. She is an LL.M. in Business Laws and holds a Distinction with Gold Medal of Excellence in her Masters from the Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab. She passed her B.A. LL.B. (Hons) with the University Third Rank from the North-Eastern Hill University, Meghalaya.
