I take this opportunity to introduce myself as a designer and a textile revivalist working on patterns and designs with the silks of Assam to create sustainable, niche, futuristic yet heritage products which anyone would like to own. I work with the rural sector weavers, skilled artisans and yarn makers at local factories in North East Assam to create such collections. I have been working for the last 12 years on my own, designing my collections and bringing them into existence without any external help. I have my own boutique Doyna in Guwahati along with other three stores and also market my products through different retail stores in the city, the country and abroad. Through these stores we are trying to promote women entrepreneurs to showcase their talent in different aspects say it weaving or designing or sewing or dyeing or marketing. I have been trying to work with all my artisans however due to the pandemic we are unable to liquidize the produce for them to work on. I seek your support to stand by our craft and make our integral fashion a national and international product. I believe in a sustainable chain to be created at the earliest to bring out the most beautiful products from North East. My aim is to support the #SaveMyLoom project and make Vocal About Local a mission to promote our heritage all over the world for which I need you to hold hands with me and my work.
