Beena Unnikrishnan is a Chennai-based artist, business magnate and a film maker. As a partner in M&B Associates, a company involved in the import of premium beverages into South India, she ventured into what is predominantly a male dominated business. In parallel, she also runs a movie production house, Iris Green Films which has completed the production of their maiden project : Maiya and are onto their second. Her business across different continents have given her splendid exposure to different cultures and has equipped her with a global outlook, which is highly sought after and instrumental. She is gifted with a natural flair for communication, relationship building, mobilization of resources/policies & procedures. When she is not attending back to back meetings, she paints. A true artist at heart, she is adept in different styles of painting ranging from the traditional Tanjore paintings all the way to abstract art. Inspired by her mentor, she is now exploring the profound subject of tantric art. She is also a recipient of the Senior Fellowship Award for her thesis on the topic of ‘Application of Cognitive Dynamics to Art’ from the Ministry of Culture,government of India.
