Dr Lipika Sharma is a legal professional with 22 years plus experience as an accomplished practising professional in the Supreme Court of India, academic, project manager, POSH trainer, and international consultant with UN Women, WRD register (Climate change and Disaster Risk reduction). She has worked in the capacity of Managing Editor Walters Kluwer Australia (Asia Pacific Region), as a Legal consultant with CCIM, Ministry of AYUSH and Professor with leading private Universities i.e., Amity, Galgotias and Sharda University. She was awarded Indo-Asian Teaching Excellence Award 2021 (Climate change and environmental law) by the IMRF, an academic research association registered with NITI Aayog, Awarded “Best Women Educator in Innovative Law Teaching” at National Education Excellence Award 2017, in association with the United Nations Global Compact and Exceptional women of excellence 2022. She drafted a desk report for UNDP and IFRC on “Effective law and regulation for disaster risk reduction: a multi-country report” for Punjab. Her case study research on gender in eco-system-based adaptation and local governance was published by UN Women as CSW66 Background Paper “Empowering Women in Climate, Environment, and Disaster Risk Governance: from National Policy to Local Action” She is an Expert trainer for POSH and trained government and corporate employees and conducted more than 75 workshops. She has published books, chapters in books and articles published in International and national Journals. She is a licenced Lawyer in India and has a master’s in law and political science. She has picked up certificates in ‘Comprehensive Disaster Risk Management Framework’ and ‘Gender aspects of Disaster Recovery and Reconstruction’ Dec 2022’ from the introductory course of the World Bank Institute's web-based learning program in association with the National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM), Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, ‘Introduction to Sustainable Development in Asia and the Pacific’, ‘Green Investments: Renewable Energy’ from ADB Institute, December 2021. ‘Understanding Gender, Inequality, intersectionality, social action: Feminist Perspective. MASL, HP University, 3-month Online certificate course in Intellectual Property Rights, Indian Law Institute, Delhi with A+ grade, and 2-week course on International Law, Indian Society of International Law.
