Savita Makkar

Mrs. Savita Makkar is an accomplished educator and academic leader with over two decades of experience as Principal and Head of Chemistry departments across reputed institutions. A Gold Medalist in Chemistry with MSc and MPhil degrees, she has further enriched her expertise through certifications from Yale University in Psychology and Stanford University in Child Nutrition. She is also a certified yoga trainer from the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga, New Delhi, reflecting her holistic approach to education and wellness.

For the past five years, she has been serving as the Management Trustee of Sohsheel Foundation, an Education Research Foundation in Panchkula, Haryana. In this role, she has been instrumental in innovating and implementing alternative learning methods and pedagogy. She regularly conducts workshops and counselling sessions for students to guide their academic planning and performance, while also organizing teacher training programs to share the positive impact of research-driven modules and activities developed by the foundation.

Beyond education, Mrs. Makkar has expanded her influence into entrepreneurship as Co-Founder of Makk Consulting, an equity and research investment firm. She also holds several leadership positions including State President of the Education Policy Council, WICCI Chandigarh UT, Governing Body Member of ASHI Haryana, and Member of the Indian Women Scientists Association. Her multifaceted contributions in education, research, social health, and women’s empowerment highlight her commitment to fostering knowledge, innovation, and societal progress.
