Ms. Soma Chakraborty has 20 years’ plus experience as a healthcare professional with expertise in hospital operations, administration, public relations & strategies. She has worked in leading private tertiary care Superspecialty hospitals in Kolkata- Bhagirathi Neotia Woman & Child Care Centre, Apollo Gleneagles Hospitals, Fortis Hospitals and now associated with Medica Superspecialty Hospitals. She has extensively worked with state level Governments across Eastern & NE India on healthcare accessibility, viability models, virtual healthcare offerings through telemedicine, clinical expertise collaboration etc. She has successfully set up the first ever internationally collaborated infertility treatment centre called Genomee while at Bhagirathi Neotia Woman & Child Care Centre & commissioned Apollo Gleneagles Cancer Hospital. She is a public speaker at various forums on healthcare seminars & conferences and is a columnist too in similar capacity for healthcare magazines. She is an active member of ALL (All Ladies League) and Women’s Economic Forum and involved with the various social activities round the year. She is the proud recipient of Exceptional Women of Excellence Award conferred by WEF (Women’s Economic Forum) in 2018. Ms. Soma Chakraborty has done Hospital Management & Medical Law. She is also Six Sigma certified. In her personal capacity, she is a dowry survivor and has successfully re-built her life from scratch when she stepped out of marriage to survive and live. She had to re-build her life when there was hardly any financial support excepting for moral support from family. She stood against dowry, physical & mental abuse and withstood it for close to 5 years suffering few traumas in between. She ultimately succeeded getting legal separation fighting all odds against her and family. She is a solo traveller and has travelled abroad extensively across Europe, US and Asia which energizes & enriches her with unique experiences. She believes strongly in women’s education and empowerment and supports these by educating her support staff at home in such endeavours.
