Current Passion : GIVING BACK : That is the main motto of being associated with the overall training & development council of WICCI. I am currently leading the Consumer Insights & Market Intelligence division for Whirlpool India in a full-time role. Whirlpool of India Limited is one of the leading manufacturers and marketers of major home appliances in the country. Before this, I was associated with Nielsen India for around 6 years. Nielsen, a leading global information & measurement company, provides market research, insights & data about what people watch, listen to & buy and is present in more than 100 countries. In my last 10 years of corporate experience, I have worked with multiple organizations based out of India, US, Japan, China and Korea across sectors like Telecom, Consumer Durables, Retail. On the work front, my passion revolves around understanding consumer behavior and data to translate those into business inputs and decisions. The main reason for me being an advocate for the Training & Development field started when I first started collaborating with people with the passion to train and arrange pro-bono session on different topics worth being trained. The same drive has led to this association and a new step towards training and guiding students, peers, leaders across the sectors in skills that they need to learn or polish. Up-skilling & Re-skilling in today’s world is not only limited to young workforce but is true for every age group given the shifts in ways of working and newer technologies being used in everyday work. This is one area where people of all fields stand on a common ground. In the last year, many of the world’s largest employers have made pledges to help their workforces build new skills. But I think it is also the responsibility of educators, professionals to lean in and help pave the training & development path.
