Aparna Mahajan

State President, Haryana Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Council

A management professional, CSR thought leader, and development expert having worked on senior/top leadership roles with industry, development sector and United Nations in India and abroad. Aparna has held several coveted positions as UNDP International Technical Expert (Private Sector), UNDP Somalia, Kenya; UNDP India Country Specialist and UNDP India Consultant on Private Sector/Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). She has been Advisor, Corporate Communications, TERI (The Energy and Resources Institute) India; Director of a development foundation in India, and Chairperson of its Gender Committee. Earlier, Aparna worked on leadership positions with apex business chambers in India and United Arab Emirates (UAE) - Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), India; Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, UAE; and worked on specialized assignments with Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), New Delhi, and Nestle India Ltd. She has led international projects working along with overseas offices in U.K., Australia, Germany, USA, and has represented India in Japan from Industry Associations.

During her multiple assignments in her career spanning across varied areas of education, healthcare, women/gender, social and rural development, one of her key functions, besides several other responsibilities,  has been establishing  strategic partnerships and collaborative alliances with multi-stakeholders - government, corporates /industry associations, civil society, academia, and various other international and national organizations.

A recipient of National Merit Scholarship, GoI, and a consistent University Merit List Rank Holder, Aparna holds M.B.A. degree and World Bank Institute, USA, certificate in corporate social responsibility and sustainable competitiveness. She has several publications to her credit, including being an expert contributor author of two books on *World Guide to Sustainable Enterprise* and *World Guide to CSR*, published by Taylor and Francis Group, UK, in 2016, and 2010, respectively. She has been an author of CSR India National Report on Enhancing Business-Community Relations, and contributor to Global Report on Business-Community Relations, published by UNV Germany, TERI, India, and New Academy of Business, UK. Her key feature articles have also been published in reputed national and international foras. She has been often invited as speaker/moderator/chair at various national and international conferences on CSR, NGOs, Partnerships, Women Empowerment, by reputed organizations.

Aparna has served as Grand Jury member for eNGO Challenge Awards for Asia-Pacific 2014, and has been a Judge/Jury Member of Young Citizen Award on Innovation and Social Impact, by United Nations Global Compact and IILM, 2018. She is a nominated International Sustainability and Social Responsibility Fellow, UK and a nominated Life Member DMA, India. She has been conferred with various awards and recognitions by top organizations for her leadership and contribution to CSR ecosystem, gender and social development. Most recently, she has been awarded for being among India’s top 25 Impactful CSR Leaders for her contribution to social development and CSR.
