Manisha Singh is a psychology scholar from Lady Shri Ram College for Women, University of Delhi, whose journey into advocacy began at just 17 when she founded ShedTheStigma, a free mental health outreach initiative recognized by Fortis Healthcare. This early grassroots effort, which also earned her recognition under the International Award for Young People (IAYP), set the foundation for her continued engagement with NGOs, mental health foundations, and community-led initiatives. Her work reflects a deep commitment to dismantling stigma and advancing inclusive mental health awareness.
At Lady Shri Ram College, she served as Head of the Women’s Development Cell, leading transformative initiatives around gender equity, youth leadership, and mental health advocacy. She spearheaded national campaigns, represented her institution across diverse platforms, and contributed to programs such as Arosa (women’s safety) and ENACTUS (community-centered development). Beyond campus, she expanded her leadership as State President of the Uttar Pradesh Council at WICCI and as an active member of its Sustainability Council, engaging with policymakers, entrepreneurs, and practitioners on women’s leadership and responsible development.
Her research focuses on the human dimensions of sustainability, particularly disability policy, inclusive mental health frameworks, and the rights of migrant communities impacted by climate-induced displacement. By weaving together environmental change, social justice, and mental well-being, Manisha Singh brings forward the perspective of a new generation of changemakers. Her scholarship and advocacy highlight the interconnectedness of these issues, inspiring resilient, equitable, and sustainable futures.
